Microsoft Explore Program...

The Microsoft JobsBlog has lots of informative and amusing blog entries; that's why I check out that blog from time to time. Lately I came across information about the Microsoft Explore program, a 10 week  summer internship for college underclassmen. I spent some time to check out blogs of interns, who attended the 2008 internship program.

As there's less than one week left for Irvine Digigirlz Camp, I especially wanted to share a pointer to intern Mariah Jaeger's blog. It seems that she had a very productive time working in a development project with her fellow interns. Besides the work, her fun pictures show that she had also a incredible time at the Microsoft campus and Seattle. Who said that being in technology is not entertaining?

I enjoyed her blog so much, that I contacted Mariah to take part in the Irvine Digigirlz Camp and she was extremely nice and replied. That plan won't work out since she's in Texas right now:( But just go ahead and check out cool pictures and insider info on her blog.
Here's the link  to her blog and one terrific picture that shows what a special time they must have up there: http://mariahleejaeger.blogspot.com/2008/05/i-work-at-microsoft.html

Being inspired by such a great summer experience shouldn't be that hard, right?

Popfly, Microsoft + Digigirlz Video

While checking out some MSN videos, I came across the following video about Jacqueline Russell, a Lead Project Manager for Non-Professional Developers at Microsoft. She is talking about Popfly, Microsoft and Digigirlz... So I thought it would be a good idea to share the video with you. Enjoy!

My Silverlight - Picture Puzzle application

I have been working on a Silverlight application and wanted to share the fantastic(!) output. The game looks simple, however "looks are deceptive" right? Here is my link: http://tinyurl.com/5fmg5y

The application is based on Laurence Moroney's "Sliding Blocks puzzle" game from the "First Look - Silverlight 2" book, which I got from Lynn.

There is so much fun stuff that one could do with Silverlight and each day you find more and more samples that makes it easier for one to get started!

It would be great to see some Silverlight - Popfly applications from you - the digigirlz. Even checking out some of your customized Live Spaces pages would be terrific!

So, why don't you do some coding+design experiments and share your results?
